Our Background
Alcidae Consulting was formed following many years working with SME’s, charities and the third sector delivering a wide range of programmes, from organisational change through to service delivery and often implementing an organisational programme and project structure along the way. It was often clear that these organisations had been seeking specific expertise, resource and structure to define, develop and deliver programmes and projects but the overheads of a permamnent post weren't always cost effective or appropriate.
Realising the impact we could have at a much earlier stage in an organisations journey, Alcidea Consulting was born. Whether you need help getting started, scaling up or full delivery we are passionate about adding real value to an organisation, helping them to be more cost effective and get the outcomes they want from their programmes and projects.
About Us
Kay Boyden MBA - Director
I am truly passionate about programme and project management, from inception and strategic development to full delivery and everything in between, I enjoy it all.
I started off working in multi-national environments then for a consultancy and public sector bodies, working on large scale transformational change programmes which I enjoyed delivering and still do. My real passion however is helping organisations who either don’t currently have a programme or project culture, don’t have the specific skills in their employed workforce to deliver or are stuck with a specific piece of work, need a new approach or are unsure how to scale things up.
I’m probably at my happiest when getting organisations to understand the value that good programme and project management can add to their organisation and getting that ‘aha’ moment when they realise what it can do for them; from being more effective and efficient to how it can bring their vision to life and deliver the required benefits. I enjoy using my skills to tailor approaches to organisational size, understanding that a solution for a multi-million pound change programme won’t be right for a £25k project but that the outcomes carry equal importance to their respective organisations.
A few examples of my work include designing and delivering an award winning industry wide wellbeing programme, implementing programme and project structures to multiple organisations who have never had them before, programme redesign and delivery for service delivery and working across 25+ external stakeholders to deliver a national exemplar programme changing how these organisations work together to deliver their services to the public.
I enjoy working with people and bringing them together around shared objectives, delivering results, complex problem solving and being resourceful to deliver the very best that I can.
My qualifications include:
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (Open University, a global triple accredited business school)
Batchelor of Science (BSc) in Criminology and Psychological Studies (Open University)
Prince2 Practitioner
Lean Six Sigma
